New Year, new challenge and new blog.

Happy New Year!! How quickly did the Festive period pass? Hope you all had a great time.  Now it’s time to get back to some kind of normality, and my first make of the year is for the new Sarah Hurley 365 Blog. This new blog will showcase some of the amazing creations that the fabulous DT come up with using Sarah’s fabulous range of products.

The first Challenge on the blog is “Thank You”, and I opted to make a card using some of the stamps from my October “A Few of my Favourite Things” Kit, and the sentiment from the Sentiments Stamps. I used different colours of ink pads to make it nice and bright and popped some tiny gems onto the flowers.

Ingredients
Flower and leave stamps – A Few of My Favourite Things Kit
Lime Zest Promarker
Memento Ink Pads
Gems and paper from stash.

I hope you can join in with us this month, and enjoy having a browse around the new Sarah Hurley 365 Blog.

It’s time for a fab new challenge over at Kitty Bee Designs, and this time the theme this time is “Flowers”.  I decided to use Ms Potts for my image and I love how cute and versatile she is.

I coloured her with Promarkers and used digi papers to carry on the flower theme.

Anything goes at Stitchy Bear.

It’s time for a new challenge over at One Stitch At A Time Designs and this week the theme is “Anything Goes”.  The prize is the full set of digi images that the DT used in challenge #180. So that’s about $20 worth of digi images.. To win our main prize you MUST use an image that’s available in StitchyBear Digi Outlet by any of our creators. You can still enter with a none StitchyBear Digi Outlet image but will be entered into a separate draw to win $3 to spend in the store.
This time I used Sweet Treats which is designed by Reeces Scrap Pieces, it is a great kit as it has black and white digis, coloured digis and papers that co-ordinate perfectly. I used a black and white digi and coloured it in, added some Glossy Accents to the cherry and some bright pink stickles to the icing. How cute!

Ingredients
Cupcake and paper from Sweet Treats by Reeces Scrap Pieces
Coloured with Flex Markers
Sentiment from Hero Arts
Glossy Accents and Stickles
Pink paper, ribbon and gems from stash.

I hope you can join us this week, and look forward to seeing your creations.

Stars in our eyes.

It’s time for a new challenge over at Digi Sketch Challenges, and the theme is “Stargazing” and anyone who knows me will know how much I LOVE stars, so much so I even have a tattoo of them. This time we are sponsored by LEJ Designs and the lucky winner will get 4 digis of their choice. As always there is a sketch too, and I followed it with my card.

I used the Sentiment sheet and made a starry birthday card.  For my backing paper I really was spoiled for choice, but in the end opted for a teal starry one from Scrap Basics Christmas Stars digi papers pack from Sarah Hurley, because stars are for life not just for Christmas.  To give the card some texture I used a starry embossing folder and some Tim Holtz Kraft Core paper, and die cut some stars using Sizzix Framelits. I popped the sentiment on some 1mm foam to give the card some dimension.

Ingredients
Star papers from Sarah Hurley
Star embossing folder,Tim Holtz Kraft Core paper
Sizzix Star Framelits.

I hope you can join us this time, and we look forward to seeing your creations.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges;
CAS on Sundays – Make it masculine
Brown Sugar – Masculine birhday
Creative Corner  – Boy oh boy
Paper Crafting Journey – Masculine

Gold ahhh, always believe in your soul!

Can you guess what the theme is over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog? It is “All That Glitters is Gold”, as if we need an excuse to look out our glitter and sparklies 😀

I decided to go for a clean and simple card, with LOTS of gold glitter. I used the jar stamp from the Odds & Ends Stamp Set, it is so versatile, and I love how you can colour it, fill it with stickles, die cuts and I could go on and on. I stamped out 4 jars onto some white card, and cut one out and popped it on top of the middle one to give the card some dimension.  I decided to use gold Stickles to fill the jar, if I had used loose my cat would have looked like the Cat of a Different Colour 😉

To make the sentiment I used the “Fan’Tashe’Tic” stamp from the March “A Few of My Favourite Things” Kit. I used some gold ink for the Tashe, and black ink for the sentiment to make it a wee bit different.

I added some more gold by using mirri card for my layers.

Ingredients
Jar Stamp – Odds & Ends Stamp Set
Gold Stickles
Gold Brilliance Ink
Black Memento
Promarkers
White & Gold card.

I hope you can join us over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog with your gold creation.

Shades of blue.

Is the theme over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog this month, and I am always amazed at how many different creations we come up with for a theme, but especially when it is a monochrome one.

I chose to make a card using different blue papers, and made my theme the sky.  I took the gingham paper from Oz, and made it my base layer. Used some gorgeous polka dot papers from Secret Rose Garden and die cut them to be wee hot air balloons, this is one of my favourite dies as it makes me think of floating away to Oz. My sentiment “Enjoy the Journey” comes from the Expedition kit.  I also managed to play with this months A Few of My Favourite Things Kit, which is full of gorgeous cloudy papers, bright coloured papers, journalling cards and stamps. I used one of the stamps on my cloud die cut, and I love the result.

Gingham paper – Oz
Polka dot paper – Secret Rose Garden
Enjoy the Journey sentiment – Expedition
Perfect Day Stamp – A Few Of My Favourite Things Kit

We also have lots of exciting creations in the third edition of Lookbook, why not have a browse?

Let’s hear it for the girls.

Is the theme over at the Digi Galore Challenge Blog, and it is sponsored by the fabulous MayzyArt. I love the MayzArt digis and have quite a few waiting to be coloured up.  This is my first DT card for Digi Galore, and following the theme of the challenge I opted to use the beautiful Frog Princess digi and make her very girly.

I coloured her using my trusty Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The frog is covered with Glossy Accents to make him nice and shiny 😀 I also put Glossy Accents onto her crown. And what princess is complete without some sparkles?

I opted to keep the card as digi as I could, and used papers from digi kits(details in ingredients)
