Card for a fella!

I don’t know about you, but I always struggle with male cards. It is even worse when it is a last minute make, pressure, pressure, pressure!!

I love clean and simple cards for guys and used some Stampin Up sets and paper to make this card.

It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!!

How exciting, 2 weeks today is Christmas Eve!! I love this time of year, always have, and always wondered if it is something to do with my name lol.

Yesterday I decided to finally make my Christmas cards that I have to post, and I used The Most Wonderful Time Digi Kit from Sarah Hurley.  As most of you know my style is mainly clean and simple, and I decided to stick with this for my Christmas cards. I adore the tree digi that I used on the front of this card and felt it really should be the focus of the card.  I printed it and the backing papers onto glossy photo paper and had to put the flash off when I took a picture, as it was just reflecting the flash too much!  I popped on some silver mirri card just to add something extra.

Ingredients
Glossy photo paper
silver mirri card

I hope everyone is getting into the festive spirit and is having The Most Wonderful Time

It’s been a while!!

Hiya, what a few weeks here we have had at Chez Christie, started off with what I thought was a touch of lurgy…ended up in the Emergency Docs at 11pm one evening being with a high temperature and a pulse of 143 eeeekkk. The diagnosis – Scarlatina, a form of Scarlet Fever!!! I had no idea people still got that in this day and age. I can tell you, it is the worst thing I have ever experienced. Hubby has been amazing, and has looked after me so well, he has the patience of a saint!! Anyway, after 2 weeks of monster sized anti-biotics, I am slowly getting better and trying to get back to some kind of normality and build myself back up.

So, today I thought I would gently ease myself in with a card I made a few weeks ago before the lurgy struck. I made a pile of cards using the fab new Sentiment Stamps from Sarah Hurley and this one is a Congratulations one, perfect for this time of year with all the exam results coming through. I wanted to keep the card quite Clean & Simple, so embossed some white cardstock, popped a ribbon on it and stamped the sentiment.

Ingredients
Star Embossing folder
Memento Ink Pad
Ribbon, gems and card from stash.

Thanks for reading, it’s nice to be back.

The sun has got his hat on.

And he’s coming out to play! It is really warm and sunny here in Glasgow, and I am toiling with this heat! We have fans on in every room, and it is just too warm to do anything energetic, so today I took myself into the craftroom and made a bundle of CAS cards.

I am having trouble sleeping again, and the heat isn’t helping lol. So I lie in bed thinking of different cards to make and keep a wee notebook beside the bed for my ideas. This was one that came to me at 1am last night.

I made ten in total, and made 9 of them with the sentiments from the new Sentiments Stamp Set from Sarah Hurley. I am always on the look out for a nice sentiment stamp set and this set has stamps for all occasions, ranging from “New arrival” to “Thinking of you”.  I decided to use the “Thinking of you” stamp, but use lovely bright colours instead of the usual neutrals or pastels that I would use when using a sentiment like this.  As the stamp is a really generous size, I used two different colours of Memento Ink pads, to match in with the ribbon I found in my stash. I have lots of embossing folders, and really don’t use them enough, so today I used my honeycomb one from Stampin Up.

Ingredients
Thinking of You stamp from Sentiments Stamp Set by Sarah Hurley
Honeycomb embossing folder from Stampin Up
Memento Ink Pads
Card Candi
Ribbon and orange pearlescent card from stash.

I hope you like my sunshiney card.
