In stitches over at Sarah Hurley

Hello, today I am sharing my creation for the new challenge over at Sarah Hurley 365 and the theme is “Stitching – Real or Faux”, chosen by the lovely Ria.

I decided to make something a wee bit different from my usual cards, and opted for altering a notebook.  This months A Few Of My Favourite Thinks kit is my favourite so far, I say that every month don’t I? I just love the doodles and bright colours, I used the Printable Documented 365 Kit for my doodle page and the two cards with the skull on them.  I coloured it using Promarkers and Flexmarkers, I decided to use quite dark colours as it is a Spell Book, I really didn’t want it too bright.  I stamped out the brand spanking just released Voodoo Doll Stamp (HOW COOL IS THIS???) and coloured him in too.  To add in the theme of “Stitches” I drew some faux stitches around him, and around my navy backing layer.  I used the Block Alpha Stamps and Archival Ink to pop “Spells” onto the wee skull card.

I also used lots of 3d foam to give the whole page some dimension.

Ingredients

Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Stampin Up Chalk Pen, Letraset Pigment Pen
Archival and Memento Ink
Card and adhesives from stash.

We would love it if you could join us this month for some great prizes over at the new sparkly Sarah Hurley 365 site, remember we have regular Spotlight posts too for us DT Girlies to show you our lovely makes.

I would like to enter the following challenges;

New challenge over at Sarah Hurley 365.

And this time the theme has been chosen by the lovely Claire N, and it is All Embellishments Just One Shape. What a great theme, I of course had to pick stars for mine.

I used some gorgeous navy blue starry paper from one of Sarah’s  A Few of My Favourite Things kit as my background. I made a postcard using the Christmas Mail Stamps, I am really loving this set and use the postcard quite a lot as it is so versatile. I masked the bottom left hand side of it and stamped the gorgeous Wish Upon a Star set, and coloured her in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers to match the papers.

The sentiment comes from Star Stamps, and I heat embossed it using silver embossing powder. To add a few stars to it, I scattered some silver sequin stars on the backing paper and one on the front of Twinkles dress. I distressed the edges of the postcard using some Memento ink.

I popped some pleated ribbon on and put the postcard onto some 3mm 3D foam to give the card some dimension.

Ingredients
Promarkers and Flexmarkers
Memento, Versa Mark and Archival Ink.
Foam Pads and Collall.
Ribbon and silver sequins from stash.

I hope you can pop over and join us this month at the Sarah Hurley 365 Challenge, there are great prizes up for grabs.

New Year, new challenge and new blog.

Happy New Year!! How quickly did the Festive period pass? Hope you all had a great time.  Now it’s time to get back to some kind of normality, and my first make of the year is for the new Sarah Hurley 365 Blog. This new blog will showcase some of the amazing creations that the fabulous DT come up with using Sarah’s fabulous range of products.

The first Challenge on the blog is “Thank You”, and I opted to make a card using some of the stamps from my October “A Few of my Favourite Things” Kit, and the sentiment from the Sentiments Stamps. I used different colours of ink pads to make it nice and bright and popped some tiny gems onto the flowers.

Ingredients
Flower and leave stamps – A Few of My Favourite Things Kit
Lime Zest Promarker
Memento Ink Pads
Gems and paper from stash.

I hope you can join in with us this month, and enjoy having a browse around the new Sarah Hurley 365 Blog.

Gold ahhh, always believe in your soul!

Can you guess what the theme is over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog? It is “All That Glitters is Gold”, as if we need an excuse to look out our glitter and sparklies 😀

I decided to go for a clean and simple card, with LOTS of gold glitter. I used the jar stamp from the Odds & Ends Stamp Set, it is so versatile, and I love how you can colour it, fill it with stickles, die cuts and I could go on and on. I stamped out 4 jars onto some white card, and cut one out and popped it on top of the middle one to give the card some dimension.  I decided to use gold Stickles to fill the jar, if I had used loose my cat would have looked like the Cat of a Different Colour 😉

To make the sentiment I used the “Fan’Tashe’Tic” stamp from the March “A Few of My Favourite Things” Kit. I used some gold ink for the Tashe, and black ink for the sentiment to make it a wee bit different.

I added some more gold by using mirri card for my layers.

Ingredients
Jar Stamp – Odds & Ends Stamp Set
Gold Stickles
Gold Brilliance Ink
Black Memento
Promarkers
White & Gold card.

I hope you can join us over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog with your gold creation.

Nutcrafters – Monochrome
Stampin Chef – Metal
