Happy first of November, can you believe it is Christmas next month? I really can’t so I thought I should try and get a start on my cards.
I got some lovely new dies from Stampin Up and have been looking forward to playing with them, I love this set because it can be used all year long, well except for the sleigh one! They are also great for using up scraps of paper, I have loads of wee strips of white pearlised paper which is just perfect for this card.
1 Get a 6×6 card blank and measure up a white layer for it. Then cut out a square where your snow scene will be visible through.
2 Measure a piece of white card to use as your picture, I measured out about 4×4″. I used a piece of white linen card to add some texture.
3 Pick your distress colours, I used Chipped Sapphire and Tumbled Glass and blended them across the square.
4 Sprinkle some Frantage or white embossing powder across the inked card, I use a teeny dry paintbrush to pick up the powder and tap the brush to get it off and scattered. Heat from behind to melt it.
5 Die cut which ever strips you would like, I went for one of each. I then gently rubbed the sponge applicator from my Tumbled Glass over the sleigh just to highlight it. The stick them down.
6 Stick down the “picture”, then the frame on top and you had a card.
I am really loving crafting again, I forgot how much fun it is, even when your fingers are all blue and you resemble a rather large smurf!
Thanks for popping by today.
